Six almshouses. Circa 1884 in C17 style of three ranges. Timber framed and
parget plastered with some batten decoration. Red plain tiled roofs. Left,
central and right ranges each have red brick chimney stacks with square bases
and four octagonal shafts. One storey and attics to centre and jettied right
ranges. Two storeys to left jettied gambrel crosswing. Centre range set back.
1:3:2 window range of three or four light leaded casements, those to centre
ground floor range being hipped red tiled six light oriels on carved brackets.
Gabled dormers to this range and the right range. There are red tiled porches
to inner returns of right and left ranges each with two vertically boarded doors
with ornate hinges. Two similar central doors with pentice board over are
approached by steps with flat carved wooden balusters. Above these doors is a
small feature gable with floral pargetted apex and inscribed panel "To The Glory
of God and the dear memory of Maria Webster these almshouses were dedicated and
declare free forever. June 2nd 1884".
