House, subdivided with later shop including post office. C17 or earlier building extended to the front of no 8 in early to mid C19. Timberframed, rendered and extended with rendered brick. Plain tiled roof. Two storey timberframed wing to rear with stacks to left and right and one C20 window and doorcase with flat hood on brackets. To the right the early to mid C19 extension projects forward with hipped tiled roof and 3 windows. Central 16 pane sash flanked by sashes with marginal glazing. C 19 shopfront with deep fascia, pilasters, two 3-light shop windows to Woods Stores divided by central half-glazed double door and similar shop window to PO to right. Return elevations of red and blue brick on ragstone base, with hipped rear wings. Ground floor has exposed floor joists and axial beams which are C 17 or earlier .
