House. Circa 1850 with late 19th century or early 20th century extension. Gault
brick. Fishscale tile and slate and plain tile roofs with gabled ends with shaped
and pierced bargeboards. Gable ends and axial stacks with octagonal shafts; group
of 4 shafts on central stack and twisted moulded brick shaft on left end of stack.

Tudor Style Cottage Ornee

Double depth plan with principal room with kitchen behind in central cross wing,
small room and entrance passage on left stair-tower at back and one room plain wing
on right with C20 conservatory at front and circa late C19 or early C20 extension in
angle at back.

Two storey central gabled cross-wing with one storey wing on right and one storey and
attic wing on left. Asymmetrical front. Central cross wing has large painted stone
bay window on ground floor and 2 light diamond pane casement above with stone hood
mould. C20 conservatory in angle on right. Wing on the left has a large gabled
dormer with 2 light casement with glazing bars and lean to below with tripartite
arcaded front, the right bay the porch. The left (south) return has lozenge pane
window on gabled end and stairtower set back in angle on left. North end has sham
timber frame. Two storey gabled end extension in rear angle with plank door at back
with integral gothic window and segmental arch kitchen window on right with
multipane cast-iron window frame.

Interior: Mainly unaltered interior with re-used features said to have come from
Mildmay House which was demolished in C19. Open-well staircase with carved
interlace string and balustrade set below with thick moulded balusters. Kitchen
fireplace chimney piece made from re-used pieces. Small front room has little
Gothic grate in wooden chimney piece with cupboard above. Large central room has
intersecting beam ceiling and pilastered chimney-piece. Chamfered and central arch
on landing.
