Court House Cottage
TQ 31 SE 9/191

2.
Probably once two cottages, now forming a half-H-shaped building. Recessed
centre of one storey and 2 windows and gabled projecting wings of 2 storeys
and one window each. Faced with flints with red brick dressings and quoins.
Tiled roof. Casement windows. The east wing or cottage was originally a toll-cottage
but probably then of one storey only. In the west wall of its projection was
a small square opening now blocked, through which the tolls were paid. The
first floor was pobably added or refaced in the C19, when the centre portion
and the matching west wing were also added. Ground floor of west wing C18.
