Circa 1800 originally two separate cottages, the one to West retains its
doorway. Two storeys stone rubble with red brick quoins. Steep pitch
gable end slate roof. Three windows including left hand cottage which
has a two light casement first floor and on ground floor, early sash window
with close set glazing bars, block sills. Main cottage has square bay
windows on first floor, of three lights, sashes, glazing bars intact, wrap
round pilasters, friezes and shallow cornices, panelled aprons. Ground
floor recessed sashes with glazing bars intact. Central six panel door,
four glazed, architrave surround, flanking Tuscan pilasters supporting
small entablature. Left hand cottage five panel door, top one glazed, and
a trellis porch. The name "West Cottage" is inscribed on a recessed panel
between the first floor bays.
