Convent chapel. 1860 by G.E. Street. Stock brick with some vitreous patterning and
stone dressing, slate gable end roof. Simple Gothic exterior. Weathered plinth;
angled porch; close set range of Clerestory quatrefoils below eaves. Inside, the roof
is carried on scissor braced trusses; Gothic timber traceried screen at west end
with organ gallery; cambered clerestory with stained glass by Clayton and Bell;
frescoes behind altar by J.R. Clayton; elaborate tiled dado and encaustic tiled
floor.
