Farmhouse, now house. Late medieval; remodelled in early C17. Render over
timber frame; gabled thatch roof; brick ridge and end stacks, rebuilt C20.
3-unit plan with service to right and former hall to left; cross wing to left
demolished c.1930. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Flat rendered arches over
central door, C19 horizontally-sliding sashes and 3-light casement, all with
glazing bars. Mid C20 one-storey extension to rear. Interior: hall to left has
exposed timber framing of late medieval house; early C17 inserted floor has
bead-moulded joists and large chamfered beam with elaborate stops; C20
stairs using reset C17 balusters. Open fireplaces repaired in mid C20 brick but
bressummers and brickwork to stack are early C17. room to right of hall has
plain beam and joists of large scantling, and trimmer joist denoting position of
former stair. 4 bays of framing, with jowled posts arch-braced to tie beams of
early Cl7 clasped purlin roof.
