Cottage. Circa late C18 or early C19. Stone rubble with some limewash. Plain
tile roof with gabled ends. Stone rubble stack projecting at left end, with
short red brick shaft.
PLAN: Small 2-room plan house with entrance to right of centre, larger room to left heated from gable-end fireplace and unheated room on right.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window front. Plank door to right of centre and 3-light casement to left in segmental brick arch openings; two 2-light horizontally sliding sashes on first floor with glazing. bars. At rear window
to right boarded over.
INTERIOR: Exposed beams and pole joists. Fireplace in left room with simple moulded chimneypiece with shelf on brackets and range. Winder stair to
chambers.
Immediately to the front left there is an underground root store:
Circa late C18 or early C19, stone rubble, rectangular plan, partly
underground and covered with earth except for entrance front, the doorway with stone lintel; interior barrel-vaulted.
