GV II

Small house. Probably mid C19 with some C20 modernisation. Ground floor
level is Flemish bond red brick patched with stretcher bond red brick at the
south end. Timber-framed above and hung with peg-tile. Brick stack and
chimneyshaft with chimneypots. Peg-tile roof.

Plan: 2-room plan cottage facing west toward The Green. Axial stacks between
the rooms serves back-to-back fireplaces. Entrance porch on right (south) end
recessed from front and rising to small parallel rear service block that end.

2 storeys.

Exterior: House has regular 2-window front of C20 casements with glazing
bars. Roof is gable-ended. Doorway recessed facing forward on right end; it
contains C20 panelled door. Roof rises to 2 storeys and is gable-ended.

Interior: Was not available for inspection at the time of this survey.

Penn Cottage forms part of an attractive and varied group of buildings along
the east side of The Green.
