Archway in wall c.30 metres east of Turton Tower

Arched gateway in wall, perhaps C17, probably ex situ. Sandstone blocks. Round arch with large jambstones, dressed voussoirs; present inner face has chamfered surround, present outer face is rebated for gates; roll-moulded weathered coping to wall which steps over the arch to give a rectangular head.
