1874. Built as the Bishop Sumner Anglican School. Wide building of 1 storey
and attic Slate gabled roof. Flint with brick lacing courses, quoins and
dressings. From left to right hand end: 2 3-light casements with small panes
with 1 boxed dormer over; one tall 2-light window partly in roof space with
gable over, each light with pointed head; 2 3-light casements; taller 2-light
window, with gable over; 2 3-light casements; gabled bay with 3-light casement
with dripstone below, and 2-light casement above, both with Cl9 lozenge shaped
iron tracery. House at right hand end of 2 storeys, 2 window bays with gable
over 1st floor windows; no glazing bars. On ground floor, splayed bay window;
gabled porch, wooden door with cover strips. Plaque bearing device relating
to Bishop Sumner.
