Description

WIDECOMBE-IN-
SX 67 SE THE-MOOR
5/157 Cross about 350 metres north-west
- of Oldsbrim Farmhouse, about 15
metres south-east of the junction
of the B3357 with the road to
Ponsworthy
- II

Cross, much mutilated. Medieval. Granite. Consists of a single, roughly-shaped
piece of stone, tapering towards the top. The cross-head survives, much weathered,
and the stump of the left arm, but the right arm has been completely hacked away.
In the back are 2 lead plugs, suggesting that the cross has been used as a gatepost
at sometime. The cross has been moved from Lower Town Farm, Widecombe, and re-
erected here since 1937.
