2/4 Spella Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Circa 1800 with C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone and
rubblestone; pantile roof. Central stair-hall entry plan. 2 storeys with
attic, 2 lst-floor windows. Quoins. Step up to central 6-panel door with
overlight; above it a medieval carved stone angel holding shield, probably
reused from Marton Priory. Mid-late C20 small-pane casement windows, on ground
floor tall with monolithic lintels, on 1st floor shorter with 2-piece lintels.
Eaves band. Raised verges with moulded kneelers and ashlar coping. Tabled
brick end stacks. C20 conservatory to left, not of special interest. Rear:
c.1980 lean-to porch not of special interest; flat brick arches with keystones
to C20 small-pane windows. Eaves band. C20 lean-to on right, not of special
interest. Former wash-kitchen outshut on left has board door, shaped kneeler,
coping and corner stack. Right return: outshut has circular rubblestone pier
and brick infill below tie-beam with V struts, eaves band. Left return: eaves
band, small attic window.
