House at end of row, formerly inn. C17. Ham stone cut and squared, ashlar dressings; thatched roof between stepped
coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays. Hollow-chamfered mullioned windows; upper bay 1 is 2-light
in a chamfered recess, the remainder in wave-mould recesses, 3-light above 4-light below, but with no window to lower
bay 1; lower windows with labels; some upper lights retain rectangular-leaded panes: between bays 2 and 3 a cambered
arched doorway in rectangular recess, under deep lintol with square label. Small stairlight in north gable. Interior
not seen but reported are plain chamfered beams; two fireplaces, one a cambered-arched stone surround, one with timber
beam, both below, and a further cambered-arched fireplace in the 'Priest's room'; some elm plank partitioning; open
collar-trussed roofs. Date of opening as an inn not known, it closed in 1964. (SSAVBRG Report, unpublished SRO, March
