House. C18 or earlier origins, raised and re-roofed in 1829. Later C19
extensions to right and to rear. Coursed limestone rubble with brick
dressings. Pantile roof. Central entrance hall plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays;
symmetrical, with single-storey one-bay extension to right. Quoins to first
floor. Plain 6-panel door in beaded wooden architrave under stucco flat
arch bearing carved datestone inscribed PROVIDENCE . 16-pane sliding sashes
COTTAGE
GF 1829
with stucco flat arches and projecting cills. Extension has 12-pane sliding
sash and blocked doorway to right. Raised brick gables to house with stone
coping and end stacks. Brick coped and tumbled gable to extension.
Interior: open well staircase with moulded handrail and plain balusters.
Ground floor right has inglenook fireplace with moulded bressumer and pine
cupboards flanking the range; ground floor left has moulded stone fire-
surround with cast-iron duck's nest grate. Barrel-vaulted cellar in rear
extension.
