One of the best individual houses in Canterbury. Early C18. L-shaped. 2
storeys brick laid in English bond with stone parapet and quoins. 3 rainwater
heads. 5 sashes in moulded architraves. On the ground floor are 3 round-headed
sashes and 1 3-light bay. Doorcase has a flat cornice, 2 plain Tuscan columns
and 2 pilasters, rectangular fanlight with glazing bars and 6 fielded panelled
doors. The interior has an early C18 staircase with 2 spiral balusters to
each tread and scrolled tread ends and a fluted newel post. The ground floor
has an early C19 fireplace with fluted pilasters and a panel with swags and
sheafs of wheat. Some remains of panelling on the 1st floor.
