Yew Tree Cottage

GV II

Cottage. Late C18. Painted brick in Flemish bond. Old tiled roof with 3 brick
chimneystacks, 1 in Sussex bond, 2 in stretcher bond. 2 storeys: 2 windows.
Windows are now late C20 PVC casements. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. Ground
floor has tiled lean-to with 2 C20 PVC casements, C20 double door and 2 early
C19 footscrapers. Behind is a C19 half-glazed door with 3 panels to base. The side
elevation is of painted brick on ragstone plinth with galleting. Tile hung gable
end. Brick stringcourse. Interior has central spine beam, wooden dado panelling to
ground floor front room and cumbered fireplace to rear room. Attached to the front
of the building are iron spear railings set in a concrete plinth enclosing a section
of granite setts.
