Town house, soon adapted as office. c1850; altered in later
C19 and subsequently. Watershot coursed sandstone, slate roof.
Double-depth, single-fronted plan.
3 storeys and 2 windows, with a low plinth and prominent
moulded gutter cornice. The ground floor has the doorway to
the left with a moulded architrave, a cornice on consoles, and
a recessed panelled door and overlight with geometrical
glazing bars, and a later C19 triple window with
segmental-headed lights and altered glazing; the upper floors
have unhorned sashed windows without glazing bars, those at
2nd floor shorter, and all with raised sills and plain squared
surrounds. Ridge chimney at junction to left.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORY: formerly the office of the local architectural firm
of William Waddington & Son.
