Marked on OS as No.59.
House. C17, remodelled mid/late C19. Course, squared limestone
rubble with large ashlar gable stacks and slate roof. 2-room
central-entry plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Late
C19 timber gabled porch; 3-light windows with cambered heads
and casements, and 2 gabled casement dormers. Squared stone to
centre around and above doorway, and to left-hand gable.
Diagonally-set flues to stacks with weathered coping, external
stack to right being large and heavily built.
INTERIOR: reported to have a central stair, and 3 large roof
trusses with tenoned purlins.
HISTORICAL NOTE: built on the site of C16 workhouse, and
possibly incorporates some earlier stonework in the right-hand
gable.
