GV II

House. Early C18 origin extended and altered C19 and C20.
Coursed sandstone, stone slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3:1:1-bay entrance front of different
builds; twin-gabled garden front on left return with third
gable set back to left.
Garden front: C18 left gable has large quoins and 2 later
transomed casements in tall ashlar surrounds; similar window
to first floor centre has glazing bars. C19 lateral stack on
left; tall ashlar stack rises from valley to right. Right
gable is C19: large quoins on right; transomed 3-light
casement beneath tall casement with glazing bars; ashlar
surrounds.
Set back to left of garden front is a conservatory which
fronts a rendered gable with transomed casement.
Entrance front has much altered facade of several builds:
canted bay window on left; two 2-light square-faced mullioned
windows. Various C20 openings including 2 garage doors, 3
gabled half-dormers having transomed casements with glazing
bars. 2 tall ashlar ridge stacks.
INTERIOR: not inspected but known to contain: left
ground-floor room of garden front has 2 plastered beams with
stopped chamfers; C18 inlaid marble fireplace and display
cabinet with reeded surround.
