Early C19. Terraced houses. Rendered; ground floor with horizontal rustication. Three storeys and basement with area. Plain stringcourse above ground floor. Eaves cornice above No 47 only, with blocking course above whole range. Plain giant pilasters every other bay. Eight ranges of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars in moulded surrounds. Three doors, each with 10 moulded and fielded panels, oblong fanlights and early C19 knockers. No 49 has a porch taken on two unfluted Roman Doric columns, with full entablature including mutules and blocking course. West elevation of No 49 has four storeys with one range ofdouble-hung sash windows with glazing bars; and another range of double-hung sash windows without glazing bars on second and third floors only.
Rear (south) elevation has verandah to first floor with iron balustrade, slender wooden columns and cornice taken on consoles.
Iron railings with spear finials in front of area to north. Garden wall on west side, flanking King's Arms Hill: beach flint, with red brick stringcourse, and rendered brick coping.
Nos 45 to 63 (odd), 67 to 73 (odd) and 77 to 83 (odd) form a group with Nos 46 to 62 (even) and with pavements and railings.
