Early C18 timber-framed house with C19 addition of one bay to the south. Two
storeys. Ground floor red brick, first floor tile hung. Hipped tiled roof.
Original portion has 2 sashes with glazing bars to firzt floor. Casem nts to ground
floor. Doorcase has flat hood over. Large external chimney stack has random stone
backing with galleting. Interesting as an example of the late survival of timber-
framing. (See Joan M Harding, "Four Centuries of Charlwood Houses" p 80).
