Farmhouse and attached cottage. C17. Regular coursed ironstone rubble.
Farmhouse: Steeply pitched Welsh slate roof with stone copings. Brick end stack
to left and brick stack on stone base to right. 2-unit plan. Single storey plus
attic. 2-window range. Plank door to left has moulded wood surround and wooden
lintel. This doorway probably led to a shared passage between the cottage to the
left and farmhouse to the right. Two 3-light renewed stone mullions with hood
moulds and label stops to right. 2 similar windows to attic. Fire plaque. Each
window has an opening casement and wrought iron casement fasteners and springs.
Rear: storey rectangular external stair and a renewed stone mullioned window.
To left of C20 porch a small wooden mullioned window. Cottage to left. Regular
coursed ironstone rubble. Steeply pitched, corrugated iron roof. Axial stack has
stone base and brick flue. 2-unit plan. Single storey plus attic. Shared doorway
to right. Blocked window to left has wooden lintel. Attic: Long 4-light window
to right, blocked window with wooden lintel to left. Interior: Stop chamfered
beams and chamfered joists to living room. Chamfered bressumer with rack for
spits above; inglenook with inserted C20 fireplace. Kitchen, has a complete set
of stop chamfered beams and joists, 2 winder stairs.
