Detached cottage. C16 origins. Local lias stone cut and squared; double Roman clay tile roof with simple gable
overhang; brick chimney stacks, one with traditional baffle. Two storeys, 5 bays. Mostly 3-light casement windows, with
horizontal bars to lights bays 1 and 2, no window upper bay 2, thereafter plain windows; boarded door in heavy frame to
lower bay 4; timber lintols over all openings. Single storey lean-to with louvred opening against east gable, and lower
extension to west gable with rounded end, having 2 casement windows; indications of both roofs having been raised.
Interior not seen, but reported are traces of a stone smoke bay across whole house in west gable, in opposite gable a
c1600 fireplace, sundry chamfered beams. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, 1974).
