4/9 Barn 50 metres to south-west of
Hollyvagg Farmhouse

Barn. Probably built in 1753 for 'R.P.' and remodelled in 1850 for 'S.P'.
(datestones of the Peters family). Stone rubble with large granite quoins. Slate
roof with hipped ends.
Plan: Barn of overall rectangular plan with shippons on ground floor and threshing
floor on first.
Exterior: Two storeys. Wide opening to right of centre on ground floor flanked by
two doors with double doors to threshing floor above, flanked by two ventilation
slits. Datestones S P and R P in carved panels. Circa early C20 stable attached
1850 1753
on front left.
To rear are a flight of stone rubble and granite steps leading up to the entrance to
the threshing floor which has a slate hood on moulded timber brackets above the
double doors.
Interior: Complete threshing floor. Bolted C19 roof structure.
