Lower Bridge Farmhouse

Threshing barn. Probably late C17-early C18. Cob on rubble footings; corrugated
asbestos roof (formerly thatch). Barn facing south and adjoining lowerend of Lower
Bridge Farmhouse (q.v) with opposing large doorways to the threshing floors set a
little right of centre. Doors are flanked by short projecting midstrey walls. Roof
is gabled-ended and there is a narrow ventilator in the end wall. 5-bay roof of
A-frame trusses with pegged lap-jointed collars. Front is mostly obscured by C20
concrete block sheds with leanto roofs.
The barn complements the attractive farmhouse alongside.
