- Stable block approx 10 metres east
of Farthing Park Farmhouse

Stable block. Probably late C18 - early C19. Plastered cob on rubble footings with
some C20 brick patching to rear; thatched roof. Stables and harness room with
haylofts over facing farmyard to south-west. Front has doors to each end. Left
(north-west) door has glazed overlight and leads into stable which is lit by window
between the doors. Right (south-east) door to harness room has loading hatch over.
First floor glazed window left of centre. Roof is hipped each end. Stable
separated from harness room by cob crosswall. 5 bay roof, its A-frame trusses made
of halved tree trunks with pegged lap-jointed collars.
