Remodelled early C19 (and again late C19) but perhaps C17 in origin. Possibly timber
framed. 2 storeys and attic. North front, on Montague Street: 2 sash windows of
Victorian type below dentilled cornice. 4-light casement window in gable, which
has shouldered parapet. 2-storey extension to east, with parapet and flat roof.
West front: one sash window matching those of north front. Whole ground storey
frontage remodelled with glazed tiles and Victorian sashes. Stucco above. Steep
pitched slate roof. Interior has ground floor lower than street level. The building
leans slightly to the north.
