Middleton in Quaker
burial ground
approximately 5 metres
from the east wall and
10 metres from the south
wall and facing west

GV II

Headstone. Dated 1676. Gritstone. A single block approximately
40 centimetres high, circular on a short 'neck' which widens to flat
shoulders at the base. The inscription is deeply cut, in capitals with
clear serifs: "MARGRET / THE WIFE OF BOSSOLL MIDDLE / TON OF KNARESBRO / UGH
DEPARTED TH / IS LIFE THE 2- DAY / OF THE 3d MONTH / IN YE YEAR 1676."
