Farmhouse, c.1600 with alterations of mid C19. 2 storeys. Timber-framed,
encased in C19 gault brick with flat corner pilasters. Plaintiled roof with
axial red brick chimney; good original saw-tooth pattern shaft. At ground
storey are mid C19 sashes with large panes, at upper storey late C20 metal
casements. C19 panelled entrance door, the upper panels glazed; broad reeded
architrave and panelled reveals. Very closely spaced studwork partly exposed
internally. In the parlour and chamber above are ovolo moulded main beams,
and in one wall is a blocked ovolo-mullionea window. A short cross-wing at
right contains the service rooms; it is structurally separate and perhaps a
little earlier. A small backhouse added in C18 at rear has a large cooking
fireplace.
