2 C16 timber-framed houses now fronted with stucco through which the timbers
can be seen in 2 places. 2 storeys and attic. 1 window and 1 dormer each.
Tiled roof. Each house has a curved wooden brace on the lst floor. At
the end of each house is a later addition with a weather board front. Traders'
Cottage contains an open Cll6 fireplace. New modern extension to the south
presenting a modern brick wall onto the street.

Traders' Cottage and The Old Trader are part of the Mermaid Street Group.
