Memorial Hall incorporating caretakers cottage. 1903, with minor C20 alterations. By
William J.H.Weller, architect, of Wolverhampton, for the 6th Earl of Dartmouth, as a
memorial to his parents. Vernacular Revival, style. Red brick, with timber framed work to
gables, plain-tiled roof with ridge stacks and louvred ventilation cupola. Linear plan,
incorporating tall, single storey hall with gallery at entrance end, and 2 storey caretakers
accommodation to east side. Entrance elevation with wide timber-framed gable above tall
canted, mullioned and transomed bay window. To right beneath leaded canopy extension
to roof, double doors with flanking single light windows. Above, set within deep roof slope,
a flat-roofed 3-light dormer. Side elevation with coupled timber-framed gables, single
doorway to cottage part centre, and flanking 3-light casement windows to each floor. Low
service bay to rear. West side elevation lower, with windows to light hall. Hall interior with
lobby staircase to balcony (now blocked). Hall roof, incorporating a wealth of exposed
timber beams, supported by arched-braced roof trusses. A plaque set within the front gable
records the commemorative nature of the building's erection.
