Cottage. Circa mid to late C17, restored late C20. Timber-framed
with rendered infill panels on stone and brick plinth; south end
wall faced in sandstone rubble. Plain tile roof with gabled ends.
Rebuilt brick axial stack. PLAN: Probably originally 2 room plan,
the smaller left hand (S) room now heated from a central axial
stack; the larger right hand (N) room has been subdivided by
partitions. EXTERIOR: 1 storey and attic. Asymmetrical 2 window
east front. Small C20 2-light casements with glazing bars and C20
plank door to right; 2 small raking dormers and 1 roof-light.
Rear (W) has 4 C20 casements on ground floor and 2 roof-lights.
C20 casements on N gable end and C20 French casement on south
gable end. INTERIOR: Left hand south room has 2 chamfered axial
beams without stops and new brick fireplace. To right (N) of
stack 2 chamfered axial beams and later partitions. Roof has.
collar truss with clasped purlins.
