- approx. 50 metres east
of Arthington Hall

Stable block, now house. Early to mid C18; altered. Coursed squared
sandstone with quoins, stone slate roof. Rectangular plan. Two storeys and
7 bays, symmetrical, with pedimented 3-bay centre breaking forwards slightly;
central doorway with plain surround and moulded cornice on scrolled brackets;
16-pane sashes at ground floor, with raised sills and gauged heads; windows
at 1st floor all formerly square, with raised sills, plain jambs and gauged
heads, but those in the outer bays altered as 16-pane sashes to match those
at ground floor; bracketed pediment and bracketed eaves; hipped roof with
2 chimneys on centre of ridge. (Later addition at left end not included in
the item).
