Stroudwater Canal at SO 751105

Entrance to river lock and canal. 1774-5, by Thomas Yeoman,
engineer. Built of large coursed limestone blocks, the walls
curved on plan to meet position of former lock gates. An early
example of a structure associated with a river lock.
