1870 to 1880. Erected by Col Akroyd as the central feature in the model village of Akroydon. Hexagonal stone structure in rich C14 style. Three main stages above high stepped base, crowned by pinnacles and small-spire. Worn statue of Queen on south side with inscription below. Remains of mosaic decoration to north and south.
