Wrongly shown on O.S. map as Wattisfield Road. House. C16 origins, largely
rebuilt 1667, date and initials 'SFA' in pediment, altered C20. Timber frame,
plastered. Thatched roof. 2 cell lobby entry plan. 1 storey and attic.
Central entrance in a C20 gabled porch, 6 panelled door, reset dentilled
pediment with rustic foliate ornament, a roundel with date and initials.
Flanking 3-light glazing bar casements with hoodboards, a single light to
right or service end. Two 2-light dormers with good C17 ornament in
oversailing gabled heads, dentilled stop chamfered beams with pierced pendant
drops. Central axial ridge stack. Gable end exposed plates and purlins. C20
addition to rear right with an entrance in return. Interior: parlour to left
has some C16 studding and straight arched braces in walling, C17 bar stop
chamfered binding beams and fireplace bressumer, hall has stop chamfered
binding beams, C16 wallplates with edge halved scarf joints, roof concealed.
