Large building of 3 shops. C18 red brick facade of possibly earlier origin,
right facade now plastered. Red pantiled roof. Right and left gable end
chimney stacks. Rear wings. 3 storeys. Plastered parapet, brick parapet band
and band between first and second floors. 10 window range of mainly small paned
vertically sliding sashes, gauged brick arches, those 5 to right second floor
small paned casements. Shop fronts, left, Foster Prior,, C20 plain plastered
surround to left window, right small paned door. Central, Le.Fleur, capitals
and bases to panelled and fluted end pilasters with fluted double brackets to
panelled and moulded pediment, fascia between with moulded cornice. Left 6
panelled door, matching pilaster to fascia height to right. To left of this
doorway are recessed double doors, glazed with top arches and panelled bases,
fanlight over. Plinth with moulded base and cornice, attached arcade of 3 bays,
that to left enclosing. the doorway, panelled plinths, moulded bases, rings and
carved capitals to shafts, semi-circular arches with roundels to spandrels,
pendants to arches. Right, Aldis Fashions, C20 fascia and left recessed glazed
door approached by steps, plain window to right.
