Farmhouse, C17 with major remodelling in late C19. 3-cell plan. 2 storeys
and attics. C19 red brick encasing C17 timber-framed core. Parapets with
dentilled cornice, and shallow pilasters at the corners. Parapet gables with
C19 external end chimneys of red brick; twin diagonally-set square shafts with
oversailing caps. Plaintiled roof with a C17 axial chimney of red brick; 3
octagonal shafts with moulded bases. C19 sashes within set-forward brick
frames with splayed cambered heads. Shallow C19 entrance porch of red brick
with flat parapet roof; pair of glazed doors and oblong fanlight. Believed to
have good early C18 bolection-moulded panelling in the entrance hall and
fireplaces in other rooms. An early C19 single-storey service wing to right
and a late C19 rear wing to left.
