Boer War Memorial. 1907, by Hamo Thornycroft. Marble plinth
and bronze-clad pedestal with marble cornice; bronze
sculptural group. Square base, slightly tapered square
pedestal with bronze plaques recording the names of the
fallen, prominent cornice; sculptural group depicting a
bare-headed rifleman protecting a wounded comrade.
