Convalescent hospital. c1890. By Chorley and Connon. Stone,
render and mock timber-frame, slate roof. Arts and Crafts
style.
Central 3-storey, 3-bay reception block has coursed stone
ground floor with cambered arch and cross windows, rendered
1st floor with central oriel, paired black-and-white gables
above each with a 5-light casement, that to right now 3-light.
The upper gables are rendered and jettied. Flanking angled
single-storey wings each have 4 projecting gabled open
verandas, now walled up and glazed, mock timbering in apex of
each gable.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A plaque in the rear entrance hall states that the building

larger and more richly decorated version of the building.
