Cemetery wall with blocked gateway
on north-west side

A section of the wall of the Leeds General Cemetery, now St
George's Fields. 1832-34. By John Clark. Coursed squared
gritstone, pedimented coping. Approx 3m high, extending from
the lodge (qv), 80m to the N corner and returning (height
reduced) along the NW side for approx 30m. Midway along the NW
side is a monolithic gateway (blocked) approx 4m wide and 3m
high: tapering jamb stones supporting a massive shaped lintel.
