Pair of houses. 1843. Designed by JB and W Atkinson for Miss
Hazelwood. Brick with painted stone dressings. Slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Each house 2 bays. The windows are
casements with margin panes and painted rusticated stone
lintels with false keystones. The ground floor casement of
No.31 extends to ground level and forms a French window. The
similar 1st floor windows have a sill band and cast-iron
balconies. The balconies of No.29 have stone bases carried on
corbels and have anthemion-pattern railings. Each house has a
doorway to the right of its ground-floor window, with a
moulded surround with a semicircular head and plain overlight.
No.31 has a 4-panel door and No.29 has a C20 partly-glazed
door. The gutter is carried on timber brackets. Chimneys in
front of ridge to left of each house.
