Pair of houses with shops. 1810-20 with C20 shopfronts.
Orange-brown brick in Flemish bond with timber cornice;
shallow pitched slate roof with truncated brick stack.
EXTERIOR: 4-storey 4-bay front. Shopfront to left is framed in
plain pilasters with moulded cornice on thin brackets paired
at the pilaster heads: doors at each end are glazed and
panelled and window is of 3 lights over panelled stall riser.
Shopfront to right is of aluminium with plate glazing. All
upper floor windows are 1-pane sashes except for two 12-pane
sashes on second floor of house to right and two on third
floor where original unequal 9-pane sashes have 1-pane
replacement lower sashes. All windows have stone sills, some
painted, some damaged: all have flat arches of orange rubbed
and gauged brick. Moulded eaves cornice incorporates
guttering.
