Pair of houses, now shops and offices. c1840; late C19
shopfronts, altered. Pink-grey brick in Flemish bond;
shopfront and doorcases of timber; timber guttering on paired
block brackets; pantile roof with brick stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 4-window front. Four doorways, two
contained within shopfront at right, and framed in pilasters
beneath frieze and minimal cornice on grooved brackets:
doorcase to No.20 is of fluted half-elliptical columns with
imposts, adjacent one of plain pilasters, both with flat
cornice hoods. Doors are of 6 flush panels, with divided
overlights, except shop door which is glazed and panelled.
Shop window is of plate glass over brick riser. Remaining
ground floor windows and those on first floor are 16-pane
sashes; on second floor, unequal 12-pane sashes: all have
narrow painted stone sills and slightly cambered brick arches,
those to No.22 on first floor painted.
