Pair of large terraced houses with attached verandah, forming part of row of 15 in interestingly varied but harmonious style. Mid to later C19; altered. White-painted stucco, slate roof, stuccoed chimneys; cast-iron verandah. Italianate style. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with back extensions. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys over cellars, 2+2 windows, with string courses and bracketed eaves. Each has steps up to a wide but shallow pilastered porch to the left, with moulded imposts, stilted segmental head with keystone and cornice, and recessed doorway set in a wooden and glazed screen (that to No.15 with ferrimenta); 2-light windows on each floor above the doorway; a 2-storey canted bay to the right with balustraded parapet, and a 3-light window above this. The windows at 1st floor have segmental-headed lights and those at 2nd floor have round-headed lights, all have pilastered architraves with keystone to the lights, and all appear to be sashed. Tall corniced multiple-flue chimneys. Attached to the front is a straight verandah of delicate design, with very slender twisted column, open-work frieze and glazed roof. INTERIOR: not inspected. Adjoins No.13 to the right (qv). All the listed buildings in Beach Lawn, together with those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Marine Crescent and Marine Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
