Incorporates a scheduled Ancient Monument, namely the original facade of St
Mary's chapel on Wakefield Bridge. Early-mid C18 garden house altered to
form a boathouse and to accommodate the old chapel facade which was replaced
by a reproduction in 1847. This stands above a broad, segmental-arched boat
entrance with cut voussoirs. Five bays. Doorways alternate with tracery panels
in ogee crocketed frames within gables. Slender panelled buttresses. Narrow
outer bays have niches above. Frieze of five relief panels of life of Virgin
is very badly weathered and the parapet mostly missing.
