Farmhouse. C16, altered in mid-late C19. Plastered cob on rubble footings with
some C19 and C20 brickwork; stone and brick stacks; thatched roof. Much-altered 3-
room-and-through-passage house with inner room to north-west (left of south-west
facing front). C18 or C19 rear block behind hall and inner room. Gable-end stack
and front lateral stack to hall. 2 storeys. Regular 4-window front of late C19 3-
light wooden casements with glazing bars has passage door and C20 trellis porch
towards right and massive projecting lateral stack of volcanic ashlar with high
plastered chimney shaft topped with C19 brick left of centre. Right end gable and
chimney rebuilt circa 1980 in brick. To rear first floor service chamber has C18
3-light pine flat faced mullion window with central iron casement and early leaded
glass, each light has 25 rectangular panes. Interior shows mostly result of mid-
late C19 modernisation; all fireplaces are blocked and most partitions are clad.
Passage-hall partition contains wide-elliptical arch with stucco head corbels and
similar corbels on outer walls mark position of former hall-inner room partition.
There is a raised-up oak plank-and-muntin screen including a shoulder-headed door
on lower side of passage. Roof of mid-late C19 king post trusses.
