No 1: Early C19, 3-storeys, 3 windows. Red brick with low pitched, hipped
roof of stone flags. Segmental arches and stone cills to sash windows with
glazing bars on 2nd floor, modern casements below. Central window blocked
on each floor. Modern shop front continues across No 3. C18 building originally
a rear wing of No 38 Westgate (qv), now altered. 2-storeys, two windows, early
C20 fixed lights under narrow stone lintels, not in original places. Narrow,
dark red bricks. High pitched swept roof now slated. Included partly for
group value.
