Shallow, U-shaped range of buildings of almshouse appearance. Late C19. Tiled
roofs with tall, fancy brick chimneys. 2 storeys, one or 2 windows each, all
under gables except for outer part of left and all of right wing. Picturesque
neo-Tudor style with some oversailing attics and 1st floors. Varied materials
including stone, brick, half timbering with pebble dash, and wood shingles.
Boarded doors. Casements windows of many lights, some canted bays, some square
some oriels on carved brackets.
Nos 1 to 9 (consec) The Square and The Cottage form a group.
